During the COVID-19 pandemic, many older people isolated themselves at home, and research shows that isolation and enforced social distancing can increase feelings of depression and loneliness, while physical exercise can enhance the quality of life and bring several health benefits.

Marit Engen is our second new postdoctoral researcher that have joined CTF this year. Marit Engen completed her PhD in 2016 at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences, Lillehammer. Her research interest lies in the area of service innovation, and her doctoral thesis, "Frontline employees as participants in service innovation processes – Innovation by Weaving", focused on service innovation processes, and in particular the involvement of frontline employees.

Within the Drive project in computer science, the new satellite-based internet service Starlink is currently being tested. Starlink, developed by Elon Musk's SpaceX, offers reliable internet connectivity in areas with limited infrastructure.

We would propose a back-to-back panel, from the Global Gender Matters (GGM) Network, based at the Department of Gender Studies, Lund University. We are an interdisciplinary group of scholars, who work on multiple scopes and scales of empirical and theoretical frameworks on local and global issues through a gendered and feminist lens.

All aboard the digital train: technological marginalization in public transit Digital marginalisation in public transit. Digital infrastructure has expanded rapidly and become integrated into the fundamental structures of society. Public logistical structures are no exception, with Swedish public transit utilising digital platforms enabled by mobile media for both travel planning and ticket management.
Feminist comics have come to play a prominent role in Swedish cultural debates, serving as political satire, social commentary and a medium for activism. The aim of the project is to examine the explosion of feminist comic art in Sweden, popularized by creators such as Liv Strömquist, Nina Hemmingsson, and Sara Granér, among many others.

Joann Peck has been appointed Visiting Professor at CTF. The Visiting professorship is funded by Anne-Marie and Gustaf Ander Foundation for Media Research, which provide grants to cover the cost of a visiting professor at the CTF for a month during the next three years. - I am so excited to be invited as a Visiting professor at CTF and Karlstad University. I have been fortunate to work with Anders Gustafsson at CTF on several projects in various retail settings.

Making a Difference with ACR

"Making a Difference" was the theme of the Association for Consumer Research North American Conference that was held October 3-6 in Chicago, USA. The conference had about 1500 participants, including several world-leading researcher in consumer behavior. CTF was represented by researchers Anders Gustafsson and Tobias Otterbring. Professor Anders Gustafsson and PhD Student Tobias Otterbring presented two studies.
