The Holidays are approaching, and another research year is coming to an end. When I look back at 2018 I feel very proud.
During the year, we had five PhD defenses, which is eight in total if we also count 2017. It is a clear indication that CTF is an academic environment to count on. We have hosted several events, for example the Service-Dominant Logic Day, and the conferences: Nordic Relationship Dynamics and Service Convention Sweden 2018.

Isn’t it obvious that women spend more money than men in the presence of a physically fit male employee? Isn’t it obvious that viewing an opposite-sex individual with an attractive face makes people more motivated to choose healthy rather than unhealthy foods? And, isn’t it obvious that restricting product touch in a store decreases rather than increases consumer spending? After all, these are all beliefs held by consumers and even marketing professors.

- I worked as a postdoc at the Centre for Industrial Mathematics at the University of Bremen in Germany.
How did you come in contact with mathematics at Karlstad University?
- Adrian Muntean was one of my PhD supervisors.
CoARA, Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment, is an international initiative aimed at developing common guidelines and principles for research assessment.
CoARA was established at the initiative of the European Commission together with Science Europe and the European University Association. The objective is to reform the research assessment system and create an international consensus. The overall aim is to increase the quality and impact of research.

To connect with the customers, stores and companies will in the future use Gamification more and more. Johan Högberg has written a dissertation on this topic and sees gamification as a powerful tool to change or maintain behavior.

Henrik Rahm grew up in Linköping and completed a degree in education in Lund in the 1980s, specialising in German, Swedish and Swedish as a second language.

Annika Rudman was born and raised in Borås, but has family ties to Värmland as her father and grandparents come from Höljes in northern Värmland. She has a law degree and a master’s degree in human rights from Lund University.
After completing her studies in Lund, she moved to Gothenburg where she completed her PhD at the School of Global Studies with a thesis on women’s property rights in southern Africa.
Briefly tell us about your background
- Academically socialized in media studies, last year I became a professor of design theory at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in the city of Halle, Germany. Before that, I worked as a scientific coordinator of the interdisciplinary research school "Locating Media" at University of Siegen that had a strong focus on researching location- and situation-specific media processes by means of location- and situation-specific methods.
