In this panel, the focus is on the continuity and changes in the conflict between labor and capital and how it is manifested in the everyday life of workers and workplace struggles. 40 years of neoliberal labor market politics have in many ways transformed the Swedish labor market weakening workers as a collective and unions.

There are many ways to understand principals' way of practicing school leadership. In this survey study, we explore how principals' actions are related with teachers' expectations of the principal assignment. How this social role is practised depends on the expectations placed on the position of the role in the social system in which it is included, but also on the expectations of the function to be fulfilled.
The History research seminar is the main forum for historical discussion at the Department of History at Karlstad University. Researchers and PhD students at the department present their research, and we also invite guests from other universities, nationally and internationally. Seminars are held in Swedish or English. Most are open events, welcoming staff and Master students as well as local historians and professionals outside academia.
