We welcome Frida Skarin, new Ph D Student in Psychology at Samot. She will conduct her Ph D studies within the research area Transformative Service Research, and her supervisor is Associate Professor Lars E Olsson.
Frida Skarin has a Master's Degree in Applied Positive Psychology from University of East London. She has previously worked as a teacher in mental coaching and conflict management at the Swedish National Police Academy.
Rose (Research on Subject-specific Education) is a multidisciplinary research environment with a special interest in subject-specific – learning and teaching in subjects. It includes how the content of teaching is selected and how different teaching methods affect and shape the subject content, from primary school to higher education. The focus is on what happens in the classroom, and on the interaction between teachers and students in the learning process.
The past year, the AI hype has been significant, and the development has been received in different ways. Many see fantastic opportunities, others feel overwhelmed, and some are skeptical.

Kotaiba Aal, PhD student at CTF, Service Research Center at Karlstad University, has been awarded the Hedelius scholarhip of SEK 100,000 to visit Texas State University, San Marcos, USA, where he will be working on his doctoral thesis.
Kotaiba Aal will spend six months as a visiting graduate student at Texas State University in San Marcos.

Syftet med denna panel är att presentera och diskutera forskning om #metoo, främst i Sverige, ur ett tvärdisciplinärt perspektiv. Panelen samlar forskare från olika discipliner som data- och systemvetenskap, genusvetenskap, juridik, medie- och kommunikationsvetenskap, pedagogik, och statsvetenskap för att belysa hur #metoo-aktivismen i Sverige beskrivits och organiserats, samt vilka konsekvenser aktivismen haft för olika områden.
The possibility of moving between different sectors and universities, within Sweden and abroad, has proven to be a successful step for researchers at Karlstad University.

The project aims to contribute to the strengthening of regional innovation systems in Värmland, in relation to the transition to a forest-based sustainable bioeconomy.
The project explores what it means for a region to transit towards a bio-economy, and the processes through which regional actors build and implement such transition.
