Many people want to, or have to for health reasons, change their habits to a healthier lifestyle, for example start exercising, eating healthier or quit smoking. Although many want to make a change, it is not an easy task.

The book "Stoppa matsvinnet! – en förpackad lösning" (unofficial translation: Stop Wasting Food — a Package Solution), written by Fredrik Wikström and Helén Williams, was named the winner in the Food, Climate and Environment category in the contest “Årets Svenska Måltidslitteratur 2022”. Fredrik Wikström and Helén Williams are active at Service Research Center (CTF), as well as at the discipline of Energy and Environmental Technology at Karlstad University.

Having grown up near Karlstad University, Yvonne Liljekvist can practically see all the way “home” from her 5th-floor office in house 21. So it was only natural to get her bachelor’s degree in education with a specialisation in mathematics, science and technology in her hometown.

His research will mainly focus on behavioral change and digitalization in healthcare. - My research will focus on decision making and behavioral change in an economic, ecological and psychological sustainable direction.

We are happy to welcome Petter Falk, who has joined CTF as a new Industrial PhD student in Political Science. Petter Falk is a new Industrial Phd student at RISE. He will be supervised by Political Science and Business Administration at Karlstad University and linked to CTF.

Between 22 and 26 February, researchers from Service Research Center (CTF) visited the Gothenburg Horse Show to study how event participants experience a rotation system with reusable takeaway cups. The researchers were there to study a rotation system with reusable containers for food and beverages - in this case coffee cups - and gauge event participants reactions. The system will be tested at three events in 2023, and the Gothenburg Horse Show was first up.

D student in Commodity Science and Quality Management, from Roma Tre University, who are visiting us for the coming three weeks to work with Professor Bo Edvardsson and Ph D Student Kotaiba Aal. Laura Di Pietro is a Ph D student in Commodity Science and Quality Management at the Department of Business Studies.

“The issues I work with are usually driven by an actual application. To me, there is a clear connection between reality, mathematic modelling and computer-based simulation.” Eddie Wadbro was born and raised in Kivik. He studied at Lund University before doing his doctoral studies at Uppsala University. Since finishing his dissertation he has had various employments, most recently as senior lecturer at Umeå University.

Margareta Friman, Professor of Psychology at CTF, Service Research Center at Karlstad University, will be a new Pro-Vice-Chancellor at Karlstad University. “I feel enthusiasm and joy for my new mission. It is a privilege to be involved in and to influence Karlstad University’s future development,” says Margareta Friman. In her new assignment, Margareta Friman will lead, coordinate and develop education, research and collaboration within Karlstad University.

Georg Gulyas was born in Säffle. His Hungarian father worked at the city library while his Finnish mother worked at the church daycare centre. He acquired his basic qualification in classical guitar from Malmö Academy of Music. After completing his degree, he continued his studies at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, École Normale de Musique de Paris and Juilliard School in New York.

Her academic career began at the university in Sundsvall, where she studied for the first two years of the economics study programme.

The evening will look like this: 17:00 to 18:30 Info at the companies 18:45 to 19:00 Collection at the Tables 19:00 to 20:00 Food and table socializing 21:00 to 22:00 Billiards 22:00 onwards.
