Our research is driven by societal challenges with humans, organizations and society in focus.
We conduct research on value creation through service based on the needs of individuals and society. We want our research to make a difference and help develop people, organizations and the world around us.Through scientific research on services we develop new knowledge about value creating processes.
Karlstad Business School is working with quality assurance to reach the accreditation according to AACSB. During two days, mentor Ian Clark visited to coach the Business school ahead in the process. It was an opportunity to ask questions, try out lay-outs and make adjustments ahead of the continuous journey.
Three years ago, Karlstad Business School was granted application to start the process for accreditation at AACSB.

Anna Fyrberg Yngfalk is a Ph D in Business Administration specialized in Marketing. Anna defended her thesis in 2011 at Stockholm University School of Business. In her research, she is interested in studying how service and other marketing discourses affect and shape organizations’ and consumers’ practices and identities.

June 22-25 researchers from CTF participated in the 2017 Frontiers in Service Conference. The conference was hosted by Fordham University, Gabelli School of Business, New York, USA, and attracted more than 350 service researchers and business leaders from around the world.

This spring yet another PhD student has been affiliated with CTF. We are happy to welcome JanErik Odhe, PhD student in Machine Design at KTH, Stockholm, and university lecturer at Karlstad University.
JanErik Odhe is investigating how to measure servitization in manufacturing companies, which involve development processes and business models. He is involved in two current projects at CTF.

Javid Taheri, a professor of Computer Science at Karlstad University, has received the “Award for Excellence” by the IEEE Technical Committee on Scalable Computing (TCSC). He was presented with this award for his contributions on cloud computing and use of artificial intelligence to optimise highly distributed cloud-based scalable systems.

– Thank you! I have a PhD from Technology Management and Economics at Chalmers University of Technology. For several years, I have also had various positions within the automotive industry as well as the space industry. In recent years I have worked at Volvo, with research and development work connected to products and services for the aftermarket.
