Researchers at CTF are currently testing Oculus Rift in CTF Consumer Lab. Oculus Rift is a technique used in the gaming world to maximize the game experience. Through special glasses the user can see different scenarios and the experience becomes more real, like being in the middle of a 3D movie. - Within our consumer research we are conducting studies both in our lab and on-site in stores.

Karlstad Business School is working with quality assurance to reach the accreditation according to AACSB. During two days, mentor Ian Clark visited to coach the Business school ahead in the process. It was an opportunity to ask questions, try out lay-outs and make adjustments ahead of the continuous journey. Three years ago, Karlstad Business School was granted application to start the process for accreditation at AACSB.

Anna defended her thesis in 2011 at Stockholm University School of Business. The teacher and musician Georg Gulyás teaches guitar, chamber music, and guitar methodology at the Ingesund School of Music. After his promotion, he can now call himself a professor. Georg Gulyás was born in Säffle, and his Hungarian father worked at the city’s library while his Finnish mother worked with the church’s children’s hours. His basic qualification in classical guitar is from the Malmö Academy of Music.

June 22-25 researchers from CTF participated in the 2017 Frontiers in Service Conference. The conference was hosted by Fordham University, Gabelli School of Business, New York, USA, and attracted more than 350 service researchers and business leaders from around the world. This spring yet another PhD student has been affiliated with CTF. We are happy to welcome JanErik Odhe, PhD student in Machine Design at KTH, Stockholm, and university lecturer at Karlstad University. JanErik Odhe is investigating how to measure servitization in manufacturing companies, which involve development processes and business models. He is involved in two current projects at CTF.

Fredrik Wikström is a newly appointed professor of Energy and Environmental Technology. He conducts research on how packaging can contribute to a sustainable development where less food is wasted. In recent years, this research has been praised and received attention in the media. Fredrik Wikström holds a Degree of Bachelor of Science in Physics at Uppsala University and received his PhD in Systems Ecology from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences.

He is here to work with Professor Bo Enquist and Ph D Samuel Petros Sebhatu, researchers in Samot, and will be visiting for one year.
