Martin Grimberg Löfgren, Professor of Business Administration

Martin Grimberg Löfgren grew up in Säffle and has stayed true to his hometown. After completing his studies at Karlstad University, he remained with the university and began his doctoral studies in Business Administration in 2002. He has since worked as a senior lecturer and became docent in 2011 and professor in 2021. Following his doctoral studies, Martin Grimberg Löfgren has conducted research within four main areas – quality and customer satisfaction, servitisation, consumer behaviour and business models. So far, his research has resulted in 20 published scientific articles.

"People’s experiences of different things and how it affects their behaviour have always interested me and are central within my research. It is also a big challenge because, as humans, we are not always rational, which makes it difficult to deliver any absolute truths as a researcher. My research has always been connected to the Service Research Center, CTF, and I have had the privilege of working together with many companies and organisations, both large and small."

For the past eight years or so, there has not been much time for Martin Grimberg Löfgren to conduct research as he was appointed deputy head and later head of Karlstad Business School. Since the second half of 2022, he has been the dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and is in the midst acquainting himself with the seven departments and 33 subjects at the faculty.

Once upon a time, Martin Grimberg Löfgren nourished the dream of becoming a rock star, but despite a different career choice, the interest in music remains.  He has been playing guitar in various bands since he was nine years old and it is a hobby that he intends to hold on to. Football is another keen interest and he has been involved as a leader and volunteer in Säffle SK for many years. But what he enjoys most is spending time with family and friends, preferably on a trip.
