Denna fråga är idag mer aktuellt än någonsin med tanke på den omvandling som idag sker inom olika yrkesområden. Samtidigt som behoven ökat så har också konkurrensen ökat från olika andra aktörer.

The Swedish Institute for Educational Research has granted funding to three projects at Karlstad University focusing on practice-oriented education research. The university also has a co-applicant involved in another project. The objective of the projects is improved teaching within the Swedish school system. The researchers at Karlstad University who have been granted funding all have a particular interest in subject-specific education.

The anthology is edited by Tobias Hübinette and Peter Wikström, researchers at the Research Group for Culture Studies (Kufo) at Karlstad University.

Is an app the right way to guide visitors to the central Hospital in Karlstad? A new research study will try to provide an answer to that question. The study is a breakthrough for research in real location within DigitalWell. The methodology is developed at Karlstad University and for the trials a prototyping system called Ozlab is used. “It looks like an app but is controlled by a real person.

In-Between Spaces: Digital Media Geographies and Social Transformations in Small Towns (2017-2020) This interdisciplinary research programme cuts across the three research tracks of Geomedia. The programme focuses on the manifold social consequences of post-industrialization, urbanization, mediatization and globalization that together shape the future of Swedish small towns.
Karlstad University has received support from the Swedish Agency for Growth (Tillväxtverket) to build a research environment for circular forest-based bioeconomy, in close cooperation with the region's small and medium-sized enterprises. The research environment is Pro2BE - Processes and products for a circular bioeconomy.
