The pandemic has shaken many industries profoundly, among them the music industry. To handle the crisis more support is needed as well as a changed view to recognize popular music as a cultural form, accordning to an ongoing study at Karlstad University.
A survey was conducted this summer to find out how different actors in the music and event industry are affected by the corona pandemic.

On 10 December, the third Mathematics Meets Industry Day (MIMM®) was arranged at Karlstad University. Representatives from Kongsberg, Region Värmland, and Uddeholm participated, and together with upper secondary school students, university students, and researchers they tried to find mathematical solutions for previously unsolved problems.

The NoRD2018 organizers invite submissions to the 10th Nordic Workshop on Relationship Dynamics. NoRD workshops are open to all researchers in the areas of Marketing and Management (or related areas); the ‘Nordic’ title simply refers to the locations and people organizing the workshops.

Current research at Karlstad University is focused on aquatic ecosystems and terrestrial habitats. With the knowledge that the two environments impact and strongly depend on each other, it is important to study the connection between them.
Insects hatch in water, fly over both watercourses and land. They can either provide a food source for terrestrial animals or fall into the water they once came from and become food for fish.

Teacher Education Programs in collaboration with learning centres
If you’re enrolled in a teacher education program and assigned to a specific study location, you’ll take your exams at a learning center associated with that location.
This year, a commission led by Peter Honeth – former state secretary at the Ministry of Education and Research – has been working on behalf of the government to develop a series of proposals to improve teacher education.
During Ingela Svärd’s last school years she was sick of school, and wouldn’t have believed that she would one day become a teacher herself. Today she draws energy from her job as a special needs teacher.

Our research embraces both traditional areas of e-services and new phenomena related to information system research, including strategies and business processes at the organizational level and individual-level usability and privacy.
Much of our research revolves around various aspects of e-services. E-services have the ability to increase organizational efficiency, reduce costs, attract new customers and improve customer service in both private and public organizations.
Is it possible to improve the performance of mobile data communication through a combination of technologies such as WiFi with 4G and 5G? This is what Stefan Alfredsson, senior lecturer in Computer Science, would like to find out in his research.
It is hard to imagine life without a mobile phone. It is our primary access point to social media and the authorities and offers a constant link to entertainment, shopping, and important community services.

There is a great need to test the stability and performance of mobile broadband networks. A transnational European platform for testing mobile broadband networks has been developed by the MONROE (Measuring Mobile Broadband Networks in Europe) project. The platform is now open and accessible to external actors.

The EU H2020 funded project MONROE (Measuring Mobile Broadband Networks in Europe) builds and operates an open, European-scale platform with multi-homing capabilities to run experiments on operational Mobile Broadband (MBB) networks. External users can perform measurements and contribute hardware and software extensions to the platform through the process of Open Calls.
