Economic history has been part of History education in Karlstad for many years. The subject is offered as a component in independent courses and can also be included in the Secondary Education Programme with a specialisation in History as well as other study programmes.

If you need to borrow before you have obtained your KAU card, you can turn to the Information desks in the library. You can get an account by showing a valid ID, and also your t-number if you are an exchange student.
... you are now halfway through your doctoral studies. How does it feel, and what is your research about?
– Thank you, it feels good! I had my midway seminar just before Christmas, which was rewarding. It was a good opportunity to summarize how the project has progressed so far and articulate my thoughts about the future.
The managing your award step, also commonly referred to as the post-award phase, represents the actual start of your research project. For the project manager this involves many tasks, for example: preparations and planning, monitoring activities and progress, managing funds, reporting, managing deviations and amendments.
The project manager is the primary individual in charge of the management of the award.
Innovation is a central element in addressing sustainability challenges, such as for example defined in the 2030 Agenda. But what are the sources of these sustainability-oriented innovations?
When looking at traditional innovation theory and related policies the answer is clear: Firms and research institutions are in charge.

Ecological sustainability, sleep robots and ageing are some of the topics included in the spring semester’s lunch seminars Meet a Researcher, which start on Wednesday 25 January.
The seminars with researchers working at Karlstad University are held on Wednesdays once a month from January to May at the library learning lab. They always start at 12 and last for about 45 minutes.

We caught up with Professor Michael Kleinaltenkamp, Freie Universität Berlin, Germany, who is visiting CTF March 26-29. During this time he will present one of his current research projects at an open CTF seminar and work on a joint research project with Professor Bo Edvardsson and Ph.
Speaker: Jonathan Magnusson (PhD Student in Computer Science at Karlstad University)Abstract:The Domain Name System (DNS) is a critical Internet infrastructure that translates human-readable domain names to IP addresses. Designed more than 35 years ago, it has undergone several improvements, specifically focused on enhancing the security and privacy of DNS lookups.
Always having access to data during a research project is important. If only one person and one computer need access to the data, the data can be stored on that computer, but it is also important to make backups in case anything happens. Daily backups are needed if frequent changes are made to the data, otherwise weekly backups could be an option.
Backups can be made in different ways, depending on the amount of data that must be processed.

People’s ways of living and doing gender are deeply intertwined with health and technological practices.
For example, perceptions of gender, that are mutually constituted by intersectional differences such race, class, sexuality and ability, inform and are (re)produced in encounters between health care practitioners, patients and care givers.
Many people start a new year by making new year’s resolutions, often to make a change and start a healthier life. At the same time, research shows that only a few of us are able to keep our new resolutions. Perhaps the best way is to go all in, and create a new habit that is done every day - a run streak.
A run streak means running at least 1 mile (1.6 kilometers) or a minimum of 20 minutes every day for a set period of time, without fail, and has become a popular movement all over the world.

MHI was founded by Valdemar Dahlgren in 1923 as Folkliga musikskolan [the Folk Music School]. It was a branch of western Värmland Folk High School, which would later become Ingesund Folk High School.

The purpose of Health Data Sweden (HDS) is to increase the use of health data within small and medium-sized enterprises as well as public organizations. HDS will offer services such as accessible data, legal issues, and competence development.
This project aims to increase the use of health data as part of streamlining the health sector and creating improved health benefits for individuals.
Artist 1990: Record an album, book interviews, go on tour.
Artist 2023: Build a brand, get to know your target audience, release a song on digital platforms and make sure to keep the momentum going 24/7.
It doesn’t matter if the artist, the production, or the songs have a classic, vintage feel. Behind most of the active artists today, there is a whole digital ecosystem.
