The transition from a closed to an open academic publishing landscape has provided greater opportunities for researchers to reach as many stakeholders as possible with their research. At the same time, the transition has meant that the costs of publishing have shifted from readers to researchers, universities, and research funders.Today, university libraries have a large number of publishing agreements that allow researchers to publish for free or at a discounted cost.

In the summer of 2024, the wooden floor on floor 2 will be renovated. This means that the library and reading room will be closed from June 6 to August 11. The telephone hours follow the library’s opening hours except for the period from June 6 to August 11 when the library is closed. During this time, the library has telephone hours on weekdays kl.

CRE8®Europe - a digital experiment The fourth and final competition in the CRE8®Europe project was could not be held as planned, but is still a good proof that it is possible to be "stronger together alone". Due to covid-19 the last and final CRE8®Europe was held digitally. Seventeen students sat around Europe, with their own computer. They were divided into groups and competed in innovation and creativity.

Moa Tunström, senior lecturer in Human Geography, will take over when Margareta Dahlström steps down ahead of her upcoming retirement. Moa Tunström defended her doctoral thesis at Örebro University in 2009, “In search of the good city. Constructions of ideals and problems in Swedish urban planning discussion” in the discipline of Human Geography.
