Meet a researcher are open seminars where you can listen to interesting researchers at Karlstad University.
In House 11, Erik Wästlund is just finishing a Zoom meeting on research funding. He is new as professor of psychology, but a familiar face in the university corridors.
– I started studying psychology here in 1996, he says.
– Back in those days it was mostly because I wanted to do something more besides my job working in a bar. But pretty soon my studies became more important than my work. Psychology was not a given choice.

On October 21, CTF, Service Research Center at Karlstad University hosted the ninth annual scientific conference, gathering Swedish transport researchers around issues concerning the Swedish transport system. This year’s conference was held virtually via zoom.
"This was the second time CTF hosts the conference which usually is a two-day event.
Applicants to main instrument or vocals in open genre are required to partake in the local entrance test (L-test) by submitting videos according to the instructions below.
You are also expected to partake in a zoom-interview, to talk about your musical orientation. The interview takes place April 30th and is not part of testing.
Open genre welcomes applicants who make music outside of the three areas we call Folk Music, Classical Music or Jazz.
This is us who work at Student Health Services at Karlstad University and Ingesund School of Music. We are happy to help you with questions about your well-being and studies. We will help you further if we do not have the answer ourselves. You can book us on site or on zoom regardless of which campus or learning center you belong to.

On Monday 3 June, there will be a panel discussion on AI in Lagerlöfsalen. After the discussion there will be time for questions. Staff and students are welcome attend.
