Schools and preschools in Sweden are culturally diverse arenas, with more than a quarter of children in Sweden having immigrant backgrounds (Statistiska Centralbyrån, 2017). The Swedish preschool curriculum acknowledges the importance of responsivity to culturally and linguistically diverse children and families. Thus, graduate teachers need to be equipped to work children and families from ethnically and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Karlstad University has a collaboration with a dwelling company called KBAB.

How do I get in contact with the International Office?You are welcome to come and meet us at our visiting times at the International Office (Building 1B) on Thursdays between 13:00 and 14:30.
Most courses conclude with a written on-campus examination designed to test your knowledge. Other forms of examination include take-home exams, laboratory sessions, seminars, and written assignments. For more information about these forms, please contact the subject directly. Prior registration is always required for a written on-campus examination.

Cormac McCarthy, author of novels such as Blood Meridian, Cities of the Plain, and The Road, is the subject of a new dissertation from Karlstad University. Fredrik Svensson highlights neglected aspects of a decades-long authorship that has produced a considerable number of novels, plays, and screenplays.
McCarthy’s oeuvre spans over five decades, from the 1960s to the early 2000s, and includes ten novels.

Organized uncertainty in elderly care: About quality, conditions for resistance, and staff's willingness to stayWe face a significant social policy challenge as the demand for elderly care is expected to increase sharply, while there is a shortage of trained workforce in elderly care. Studies have shown that working conditions in elderly care have deficiencies that worsen over time, associated with high sick leave and high staff turnover.

Girls in homelessness. Living conditions, senses of belonging and senses of home The aim of the project is to contribute knowledge about girls' own experiences of living in homelessness, through an ethnographic study with 15-24-year-old girls, with focus on their living conditions, and senses of belonging and home.

A newly published doctoral thesis at Karlstad University shows that organic solar cells is a promising technology, due to its flexibility and large amount of potential applications.
– Research and development in this field has resulted in impressive power conversion of almost 20 percent, which is very good, says Ishita Jalan, who recently received her PhD in Physical Chemistry.
In order to increase efficiency even more, it is vital to understand the connection betw
