Currently, 1.3 billion tons of food – the equivalent of 30 percent of the world’s agricultural production – is thrown away.

During the holidays there is a lot of focus on food. It is the time of the year when we consume in abundance and throw away more food than ever- at the same time as we know that food waste has a negative impact on our climate and what we choose to eat and how we handle the food matters. So, what can we do to reduce the food waste?

Erica Sandlund grew up in Norrbotten and began her studies at Luleå University of Technology, and later transferred and completed her studies at Karlstad University and the University of Tennessee.

In November, three new distance courses with focus on business models, servitization and value creation through service will start. They are developed for professionals and are given by CTF, Service Research Center at Karlstad University.
The five credit courses are developed to suit professionals where work and studies can be combined. They will run part-time and are free of charge.
The course participants will take part of theoretical and practical knowledge.

Karlstad University strives to contribute to sustainable development. Environmental thinking must permeate all our activities. We have therefore introduced an environmental management system and annual environmental goals.
These goals include taking environmental aspects into account in all education and research, making environment-friendly purchases and journeys, reducing the amount of paper and chemicals used and training the staff in environmental issues.
Besides publication of scientific results in various journals we also publish our research in other formats, to situate it in a wider context or to reach a wider target group.

She has spoken in the European Parliament and led non-profit organizations for refugees and homeless people. Additionally, Linnéa is a goodwill ambassador for Kvinna till Kvinna, an organization that works for women's rights.
Good things always happen when influential open-minded and intelligent people meet; this is the simple underlying idea of forming an international network of service researchers.

This was one of the questions that the IT consultancy firm Tieto tried to sort out when they gave a lecture on the mobile networks in the past and in the future to over 70 IT students at Karlstad University at the autumn semester first Snits lunch.

Digital services and platforms were in focus when CTF and Cambridge Service Alliance held a seminar at Cambridge University.
