Hotspot is Karlstad University’s annual job fair and one of the biggest in Sweden.
Hotspot was founded by the then Karlstad University and the first Hotspot was arranged 1998. The fair welcomes all students at Kau and all industries. Every year, about 100 exhibitors gather and they all have the same goal: to meet and recruit the competence of the future, Karlstad University students.

Education is a very important part of Karlstad University's work and can also be offered to employees in companies and organizations. We offer evening courses and distance education in Pulp and Paper Technology, so that working people can follow the courses as commissioned education.
You can study advanced modern mathematics (both pure and applied) by enrolling in a research education programme that can lead to a licentiate thesis and/or a doctoral thesis in mathematics.

The KAU card is a personal card that functions as a keycard, library card and print card.
Summer 2025: If you're a new student and you have applied for a KAU-card during the summer, these will be sent out starting Week 35. Having a KAU-card is entirely optional, and it is NOT required that you have already received yours in order to begin your studies for the fall semester.
The psychology faculty have developed a way of working to collaborate with companies, organizations, and public actors. The foundation is a common area of interest and a mutual exchange of knowledge and experience.
External actors contribute with practical knowledge, competence, and perspectives from different activities. At the university, we have theoretical knowledge and an academic perspective.
Jörg Lenhard, a postdoctoral research fellow in computer science, participated in the lecture series “Möt en forksare”. He talked about one of the meeting points between the fields of software engineering and biology: software evolution.
During his lecture Jörg Lenhard described how and why software engineering researchers apply the term evolution and related biological concepts and what researchers hope to gain this way.
Fresh seas, non-polluting transportation and good food produced by sustainable methods are examples of future challenges that affect us all. Natural science is largely the foundation and the means by which the conditions for our daily lives and cultural evolution are determined. It also provides knowledge of the human race and its place in the universe.

The former chairman of the choir CMB, Mattias Norén, has passed away. Therefore, Karlstad University flags are flying at half-mast today, Monday, May 26. Our thoughts go out to Mattias Norén's closest and all affected choir friends. A memorial service will be held today, Monday, May 26 in the Aula Magna at 6:00 p.m.
Mattias Norén joined the choire when he was studying to be a teacher at the then University College of Karlstad, in the mid-1990s.
“Over time, I have developed a strong drive. I want my research to change working life for the better, and thereby contribute to improved public health.”
Kristina Palm is from Grödinge, 30 kilometres south of Stockholm. She is an electrical engineer, specialised in quality technology. She graduated from the Royal Institute of Technology, KTH. For you as a project manager this involves many tasks eg. planning, monitoring activities, managing funds and reporting. It is essential for the project manager to understand and fulfill the requirements of the funder and act in compliance with the regulations and policies of the University. This will protect you from potential problems with funders or collaborators.

The ambition of the Spatial and Social Planning Programme is to offer education in close collaboration with society at large. Collaboration involves field trips, visits from guest lecturers, and reference groups among employers.
