Reporting of the university’s advertising expenditure
According to the EU Media Freedom Act, public authorities are required to report their annual expenditure on paid advertising to the Swedish Media Authority. This report covers the period from 8 August to 31 December 2025.
Karlstad University has an annual turnover of SEK 1.5 billion. The University has approximately 1,400 employees and 18,700 students. Its advertising is linked to the needs and responsibilities of its operations, such as skills provision, student recruitment, collaboration, and the communication of research.
The University’s total cost for paid advertising during the period amounts to SEK 260,000. Advertising has been carried out in daily newspapers and trade journals, on social media, and through outdoor advertising.
