Henryk, could you briefly tell us about your background before joining Karlstad Business School and the Service Research Center (CTF)?
– I have over 20 years of work experience from Lodz in Poland, New York, Stockholm, and London, with over ten years dedicated to service design.
The schedule is continually updated and subject to change. Seminar materials are normally distributed via the KuFo and ISLI mailing lists. Anyone not reached by these lists should feel free to contact us.

How does the flow of news and information differ among citizens in different residential areas? In the article “The Media Day, Revisited: Rhythm, Place and Hyperlocal Information Environments”, Henrik Örnebring and Erika Hellekant-Rowe study six areas in Karlstad municipality.
If you thought that newspapers and news via radio and television – also called traditional media – were dead, you need to think again. They are very much alive.
CSD started in 2006 and consists of 20 researchers at Karlstad university. We collaborate with researchers from other universities in Sweden, the Nordics and internationally.

COVID-19 and the Enforced Digitalization of Academic Life
November 5
14.00-17.00 local time (Sweden)
(1pm-4pm GMT)
The Covid-19 pandemic has affected people around the world and brought with it many challenges, beyond the obvious tragedy of lives lost and health issues. Closure has been an evident consequence; borders, societies, schools, universities.
Practical placement
Through the practical placement included in different courses in Civics, contacts are established with the schools which receive our students. In courses which include longer periods of practical placement, the cooperation with schools is enhanced through the visits and other personal contacts that are employed to follow and support the students’ development.
Critical studies on age and ageing focus on social dimensions of age and ageing in everyday life and in society. The research group is multidisciplinary with a mutual interest in critical and social science perspectives on age and ageing.
Instead of taking age for granted, the research group’s critical perspective focuses on age as an important basis for the distribution of opportunities, rights, and obligations in society.
