On November 7-8, Karlstad University hosted the inaugural Security Divas Sweden, a national conference focusing on cybersecurity and information security that aims to spotlight women in these fields. The event was organized by Karlstad University in collaboration with the Compare Foundation.
The conference welcomed eleven female role models who shared key insights on topics such as information influence, data protection and current perspectives on cybersecurity.

This year, fifteen researchers will receive awards from Riksbankens Jubileumsfond, RJ, The Swedish Foundation for Humanities and Social Sciences, for full-time research up to one year. One of the recipients is Anders Gustafsson, Professor of Business Administration at CTF, Service Research Center at Karlstad University.

In December 2017, Professor Satoshi Fujii was appointed Ander Visiting Professor at CTF. Last week, he paid his first visit to CTF to get acquainted with the research center and to meet with the researchers.
Dr. Satoshi Fujii is a professor of transportation planning and behavioral-psychological analysis of transportation in the Department of Urban Management at Kyoto University, Japan.

The service Speech-to-Text allows researchers at Karlstad University to have research material in the form of audio and video files transcribed via machine transcription. The service supports transcription in multiple languages.
CoARA, Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment, is an international initiative aimed at developing common guidelines and principles for research assessment.
CoARA was established at the initiative of the European Commission together with Science Europe and the European University Association. The objective is to reform the research assessment system and create an international consensus. The overall aim is to increase the quality and impact of research.
On Monday, representatives from Rifo — an association for researchers and members of parliament — visited Karlstad University.
– We have seen both the wider picture as well as the cutting edge expertise, and we have learned more about the challenges in acquiring research funding, says Gunilla Svantorp.
She is a member of parliament from Värmland, representing Socialdemokraterna.

In 2014, he received, together with colleague Marc Katz, Karlstad University's medal of honor for his commitment to the university's development of collaborations in Varanasi and Dharamsala, India.

The research environment is Pro2BE - Processes and products for a circular bioeconomy.

After three years of preparation, the international conference combining ECHA and IGMCG will finally take place during Midsummer week. The conference is held at Sundsta-Älvkullegymnasiet in Karlstad and brings together participants from around the world to explore inclusive education for gifted children.
ECHA and IGMCG usually organise their own separate conferences on a rotating basis.
