The research profile The New Service Economy Plus started 2011 and was completed this spring. It is a continuation of a previous research profile within the same area and is financed by Knowledge Foundation, Karlstad University and partner companies.

The Swedish DOME research consortium held a meeting in Karlstad June 4-5, 2019, where Information System’s Bridget Kane, Karlstad Business School, acted as host.
The purpose of the DOME consortium is to build knowledge about the implementation and use of eHealth services. Its research is based on studies of e-health projects, in particular in cooperation with the parties involved in the establishment of Online Patient Records in Sweden (“Journalen”).
With the support from STINT, we plan to develop together with the Department of Mathematics of the Kanazawa University Japan a double degree program in computational mathematics.
The Kanazawa institution stands out by the existing strong computational mathematics expertize, while the Karlstad institution is exceptionally active in training mathematics teachers.

Starting January 1st 2017 Per Kristensson will be the director of CTF. He succeeds Henrietta Huzell who will start her new assignment as vice dean at Karlstad University.

Karlstad Business School Day usually takes place in November each year, with a theme linked to our vision. Guest speakers as well as researchers and students at the business school participates, sharing insights and knowledge.

Responsible, sustainable and close collaboration with business are values, which Karlstad Business School shares with Institute Mines - Telecom Business School - a new partner in Information Systems and Business.
From Autumn 2021, Karlstad Business School students will be able to apply for a semester abroad in Paris.
The Swedish Institute for Educational Research has granted funding to three projects at Karlstad University focusing on practice-oriented education research. The university also has a co-applicant involved in another project. The objective of the projects is improved teaching within the Swedish school system.

In June 2019, the excellence initiative in which the Service Research Centre (CTF) and Computer Science took part since 2014, came to an end. The initiative has allowed the research groups to grow and develop in order to continue producing world-class research. This is evident in the final reports from the groups.
