Civil society's (new?) roles in combating homelessness: a follow-up study.
The project aims to enhance our understanding of the roles of civil society in the field of homelessness during the 2020s and whether and how these roles have changed since the late 1990s. The empirical study consists of interviews with representatives of civil society organizations working in the field of homelessness in Stockholm and Gothenburg, supplemented with relevant documents.
The EMER network arranges their second workshop 9-10 februari 2023. This workshop will be fully online and is organised by the University of Jyväskylä.
How will our actions today affect future generations? What would the effect be if we looked not just 50 or 100, but millions of years ahead? And what role does history play in creating a sustainable future?

Abstract: Medical researchers have been making headlines with a surprising series of findings about how the health status of men’s bodies prior to conception can directly affect the health of their children.
The Centre for Societal Risk Research (CSR) is a research centre at Karlstad University specialising in society’s understanding and management of risks in a world where risk and security issues are becoming increasingly complex and vital.
CSR is a research centre that creates and shares knowledge about societal risks and the role of society in relation to these risks.

The EU H2020 funded project MONROE (Measuring Mobile Broadband Networks in Europe) builds and operates an open, European-scale platform with multi-homing capabilities to run experiments on operational Mobile Broadband (MBB) networks.
The project has now accepted 15 new external project proposals for funding.
The MONROE project aims to measure and understand the quality of MBB networks as experienced by the end-user.

DESCRIPTION
‘Transnational bachelors’ are men who have moved between countries and describe themselves as single. This project seeks to understand how these men live and manage their lives as singles.
Single men is the largest group among people who migrate. Unfortunately, very little research about them exists.
In media and in communication from the government innovation is brought forward to save our Swedish businesses through increased revenues and lowered cost. In addition, it will help us to create more jobs and a brighter future. Innovation has in recent years become such a buzzword, it seems like everyone is an expert in innovation and that all firms are innovative. So, what does this then mean in practice - let us see both sides of the coin.

A large-scale study reveals that Swedish teenagers who spend a lot of time playing video games excel when it comes to knowing many words in English. Compared to their non-gaming peers, the gamers score significantly higher for particularly difficult words. The study also concludes that the time played is more important than the type of game played for predicting vocabulary scores.

Syftet med denna panel är att ur ett tvärvetenskapligt perspektiv utforska skönlitteratur som källa till kunskap om queera liv. Skönlitteraturen har haft en stor betydelse både för queer aktivism och forskning. Den har stått i centrum för queer och trans teoriutveckling i Sverige (t.ex. Björklund & Lönngren 2020, Holmqvist 2017, Kivilaakso, Lönngren och Paqvalén 2012, Rosenberg 2002).
