We receive district heating and electricity from cogeneration plants (also known as combined heat and power plants). In the future they might also produce bio-oil, which can be used as biofuel or replace fossil oil in the chemicals industry.

Four computer science students at Karlstad University have been recognized for their exceptional project work in the Software Engineering course. The project team, comprising Jonatan Altebro, Viktor Hajto, Martin Ramnér and Elmar Gebre Yekuno, earned high praise from faculty for their professionalism and innovation.
The team developed GoldenYears, an Android application designed to support elderly users in maintaining their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Philemon Hahn played both drums and violin as a child at the cultural school in Simrishamn. However, his interest in the violin was greater and grew stronger over time.
Our research explores the social dynamics of political and economic inclusion and exclusion. Racism, as an ideology and everyday practice, constitutes an integral part of this focus, as do discourses on cultural values in contemporary processes of both conflict and convivial coexistence.
The PhD Mini Conference (doctoral colloquium) will be held at Karlstad University on October 22-23, 2024, alongside the main FEKIS conference. On December 17, 2010, Mohamed Bouazizi, a Tunisian street vendor, set himself on fire as a protest against the autocratic regimes in his Arab country. Bouazizi’s act was captured on film and quickly spread throughout the world. The images and film clips of Bouazizi triggered protests and demonstrations against regimes in other Arab countries. I work as a professor, voice teacher, researcher and head of subject of Classical Voice at Ingesund School of Music. I did my Master of Fine Arts at the Royal Acamdy of Music and the University College of Opera, both in Stockholm. I continued my studies at the University College of Opera in Stockholm in 1991–1995.
