It is clear that religion can be an expression of both conflict, reconciliation and a sense fellowship. Thus it is important, relevant and interesting to engage in the field of religious studies.

Electrical engineering is one of the disciplines in the Department of Engineering and Physics, which also includes Mechanical Engineering and Materials Engineering and Physics.
At Karlstad University, you can study electrical engineering on undergraduate (grundnivå) level that leads to Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical Engineering. The study program focus in the area of electrical and renewable energy systems for sustainable development.
On 1 June, the distance learning recommendation for universities and university colleges is lifted. Teaching and examinations can now gradually start to be held on campus to a larger extent, albeit under restrictions to reduce crowding and the risk of infection.

Researchers Johan Quist and Martin Fransson have for several years together with different authorities conducted research on how the public sector can be better, more relevant and appropriate for citizens.
Victoria is the contact person for the program it design and IT, project management and business systems.
In the future, probably also for Web and multimedia (Victoria can lobby of cases to Kristina Fransson on Communications Department).
All Master's programmes are presented here, grouped in areas of interest. At this level, we offer one-year and two-year Master’s programmes as well as professional degree program.
Students who have earned a Bachelor’s or a professional degree of at least 180 ECTS cr. are eligible for admission to master’s-level study.

Runa Skyrud, is the project leader of Tretorget AS.
Tretorget runs development projects that are rooted in companies' strategies and needs, and deliver measurable results. They have long experience with establishing business networks and clusters and have been involved in several cross-cluster projects. The company was established in 2001 and is now owned by some of the employees.
Until the end of April, Per Kristensson, Professor of Consumer Psychology and Innovation, is a Visiting Professor at the Center for Service Leadership, one of the flagships of Arizona State University. We had a chat with Per to see how he is doing.
Hello Per, how is life at Arizona State University, ASU?
- It is great! ASU is large, with 77,000 students and 12,500 employees. The University is ranked second highest in the U.S.

What do you work with?
- I work as a senior consultant at Virtusa. It is an international IT consultant company listed on Nasdaq in the US with 19 000 employees all over the world that works within bank, insurance, telecom, health care as well as media and entertainment. In Sweden, Virtusa is focused primarily on bank and insurance.

The Grants and Innovation Office (GIO) has access to the VFT funding programme through its involvement with the innovation office Fyrklövern. On the basis of a competitive application, the university receives an annual grant from this Vinnova programme.
This funding can be used to verify innovative ideas that might benefit the world in the form of new businesses, licensing, and so forth. It cannot be used to finance research.
On the 10 May Monika Rydstedt Nyman successfully defended her licentiate thesis titled "Learning and knowledge sharing from management of extreme weather induced impacts on the Swedish transport infrastructure - Case study of the Swedish Transport Administration".

The aim of this project is to develop and test a digital innovation method that enables users and employee to co-create and develop innovations through a digital platform.
The situation surrounding the course Intercultural studies: race and whiteness in Sweden, which has attracted a lot of media attention, has led to a report being filed with the Disciplinary Board of Karlstad University.
The report was entered in the registry on Thursday and will be processed promptly.

Per-Ola Wiklander, Senior Lecturer in Public Law and Programme Director at Karlstad Business School, is pleased with the development of the law programme. And the students find jobs right away.
- I have been involved from the start as a teacher and I took on the role of programme director 2.5 years ago. It has been quite a bit of development work, as a degree in law is very comprehensive. Our students have been both ambitious and capable, however.

Julio Angulo was awarded his doctorate at Karlstad University in 2015 and is now doing research on user experience at Google. On 13 January he visited Karlstad University to give a lecture on his journey from Karlstad to Google to inspire students.
”During my time at Karlstad University I met many clever and motivated students.
Digital technologies and digitalisation-related change can affect society at large as well as individuals. This area studies how digitalisation and digital transformation can create synergies between industry, individuals, employees and society at large. Particular focus is on the expansion towards Industry 5.0, where sustainable digital transformation and an interaction between people, the environment and society is central.
The first course round has now finished and the students Maria Oliva and Thibault Vainer are very pleased.
– I will definitely benefit from this course in my future career, says student Maria Oliva.
– We based the course on the idea that students need to practise their communication skills in a variety of situations that they will encounter in life, says John Johansson.
Värmland has received stricter general guidelines and Karlstad University is adapting teaching and research accordingly. In line with this, all activities will as far as possible take place remotely.
A vice-chancellor’s decision was made on Monday following the new stricter general guidelines for Värmland County from the Public Health Agency. Karlstad University is taking its responsibility to help reduce the spread of infection.
