Three scholarly articles written by researchers in Computer Science at Karlstad University have been accepted to IEEE CloudNet, a large international conference on cloud networks in Coimbra, Portugal.

The seminars with researchers working at Karlstad University are held on Wednesdays once a month from January to May at the library learning lab. They always start at 12 and last for about 45 minutes.

Girls in homelessness. Living conditions, senses of belonging and senses of home The aim of the project is to contribute knowledge about girls' own experiences of living in homelessness, through an ethnographic study with 15-24-year-old girls, with focus on their living conditions, and senses of belonging and home.

Anders Olsson grew up in Zakrisdal in Karlstad. His parents were teachers and his father spent a lot of time on inventions and art. His dad’s inventiveness has been a big influence on Anders Olsson in his career, in terms of searching for solutions and finding new opportunities.
While in secondary school, Anders Olsson was inspired by a teacher who was passionate about environmental issues and the problems connected to the greenhouse effect.

As its name indicates, the generic specialisation rhythmic and improvised music (Ri) concentrates on improvised rhythmic playing. This is one of the three generic areas at Ingesund School of Music (MHI).
At MHI, rhythmic and improvised music corresponds to styles previously known as under the umbrella terms Afro-American Tradition or Jazz. At many other Nordic music schools, these styles are simply known as rhythmic music.

The conference was held in Belgrade on November 25-27 with a large participation from academia and industry sectors.

Living in homelessness has a significant impact on a person's living conditions and sense of belonging, putting the meaning of home at stake, as well as the universal need to call a place home. The goal of this project is to contribute knowledge about girls' own experiences of living in homelessness without their legal guardians.
Girls who experience homelessness without their parents after being forced to leave home form a particularly vulnerable group in Sweden.
From today, 9 February, the majority of the Covid-19 restrictions concerning the university’s activities will be lifted. This means that we can begin a gradual return to normal on-campus teaching.
