The resource room

The resource room is situated in the library on level 2 in room 1E 239. There are four work areas in the room; of which two with adjustable desks. The computers is equipped with text-to-speech software, spell-check programs, dictionaries, magnification camera and scanner.

The following study aids and assistive software can be found in the resource room;

  • ClaroRead Plus - text-to-speech software
    ClaroRead Plus is a text-to-speech software which can read text and documents back to you in a human sounding voice. ClaroRead Plus also allows you to scan and convert any publication into an accessible PDF’s or Word documents that can be read out loud with colour highlighting.

  • Easy Reader
    Easy reader is a software digital player, allowing users to read and listen to talking books. 

  • Easy Producer
    EasyProducer converts standard Microsoft Word files into audio files.

  • Stava Rex
    StavaRex is a Swedish spell-check program developed especially for people with dyslexia and those with reading and writing disabilities

  • Spell Right
    SpellRight is a spellchecker program, specially designed to be sensitive to typical errors made by Swedes, Danes, Norwegians and Finns who are writing in English.

  • ZoomText Magnifier/Screenreader
    One of the computers is equipped with the magnification software ZoomText.

  • Magnification camera
    There is a magnification camera in the resource room with a enlargement ratio that can be set between approximately 4x and 25x magnification
