The design of public space requires a deep understanding of the way large numbers of people move. Of particular importance are their dynamical interactions and the resulting collective behaviour. This is a key issue not only in designing e.g. railway stations, airports, but also in ensuring the safety of crowds at large public events.
However, the modelling and computation of such groups of people is still in its infancy.
Working Life Science offers both subject-specific courses and Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degree programmes in working life science.
Our undergraduate courses are offered to programme students in Human Resource Management and Working Life 180 ECTS cr., and to students planning to major in the subject. We also provide tailor-made contract courses.
Swedish pupils need support to fully understand what they read online. They often have great knowledge and abilities, but must be given tools to interpret texts in a digital environment. These are the findings of new research at Karlstad University.
"Reading a printed text and reading a text online entail different types of challenges, and pupils must be able to work with both text types.
