Cornelia Brantner holds a PhD and a master’s degree from the Department of Journalism and Communication at the University of Vienna, Austria.
After her PhD, she had a postdoctoral position which concluded with a few months at the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, where she deepened her knowledge of digital methods, such as network analysis.
From today, 9 February, the majority of the Covid-19 restrictions concerning the university’s activities will be lifted. This means that we can begin a gradual return to normal on-campus teaching.

Within the project TRUEdig, CTF and Elvenite are developing new knowledge that can support a sustainable development in the food industry.
TRUEdig focuses on digital integrity and how businesses that develop privacy-enhancing services can increase the user’s security and sense of empowerment. Elvenite is one of the partner companies within the project.
– The purpose of the research is to widen the scope of sustainability work in the food industry.
Karin Ahlin is a senior lecturer in information systems and a new postdoctoral researcher at CTF and Karlstad Business School. Over the next two years, she will investigate how health data can be used to create better health for individuals and more efficient processes in health care.

At the moment Sweden has a considerable housing shortage. A recent forecast from National Board of Housing states that 700,000 flats need to be built by 2025. At the same time there is a growing concern about how the building sector affect the climate and conventional building materials are challenged by new materials being more environmentally friendly.
The overall aim of research is to generate new knowledge so that we can understand the world we live in and change it for the better. Confidence in researchers and their handling of the ethical issues that arise in all research is therefore a key condition for conducting research and applying research results.
Traditionally, the academia provides education based on science and tested practice. But more is required today: Being a good team member, to communicate well, resolve conflicts, plan a career. At Karlstad Business School we call it Professional Skills®. It involves transferring knowledge from head to hand.
