Recently, one of the world's prime conferences in service research, QUIS16, was arranged at Karlstad University. Several of the founders of the research field shared their stories on how it all started and valuable insights, and provided good advice for continued research and development.
The Grants and Innovation Office (GIO) supports individual researchers and research groups at Karlstad University in developing external funding strategies, as well as working with the personal and professional development of research staff.
Support is offered through a range of competence development activities, for both individuals and groups, as well as in connection with external research funding applications to regional, national and international funders.

The biannual Geomedia conference provides a genuinely interdisciplinary arena for research carried out at the crossroads of Geography, Media and Film Studies.
The aim of the conference is to explore the expanding terrain of media and communication geographical research, from historical as well as contemporary perspectives.
The conference has been held since 2015 and has contributed to an evolving international community of openminded geomedia scholars.

Christoph’s main research interests are service modularization and service modeling of complex services, i.e. they consist of person-oriented as well as IT service parts.

The Håkan Frisinger Foundation for Transportation Research awarded its 2014 scholarship to Professor Margareta Friman at Karlstad University.
Margareta Friman will receive the scholarship of SEK 250,000 for
combining behavioral science with transportation research, and thus
