KÄKK Graduate school - Knowledge, Subjects and Quality in Teacher Education and Classroom
The graduate school offers doctoral positions in various subjects and is held together by joint courses and seminars and focuses on practice based research. It aims to develop knowledge of how different content in specific school subjects is transformed in teaching. The Graduate School is a collaboration between Karlstad University, Halmstad University and University West. These institutions all have a long tradition and interest in practice based research and research on subject specific education. The graduate school is anchored in a strong research environment with well established international contacts and networks such as the KOSS network.
What does the graduate school Käkk offer?
- In Sweden, there is a need for subject specific competence and research in teacher education, which makes käkk-doctoral students attractive in the labor market after they have completed their doctoral studies.
- The interest in practice based research is huge in educational science right now. Through the graduate school, our doctoral students have the opportunity to develop education and teaching in both primary and / or secondary school as well as in teacher education
- Through the graduate school, the doctoral students gain access to strong research environments in subject specific education and a university-wide and international research network
