Academic Celebration 2024 will be celebrated on October 18 in Aula Magna at Karlstad University. All professors and honorary doctors are presented at Karlstad CCC in the morning and inauguarated and promoted at the ceremony in the afternoon.

The government today followed the recommendation of the university board and appointed Professor Johan Sterte as Karlstad University’s vice-chancellor. Johan Sterte succeeds Åsa Bergenheim to the post on 1 September 2017.
Johan Sterte (57) has extensive experience as vice-chancellor. He was the vice-chancellor of Växjö University from 2009 to 2009, and since 2009 he has been vice-chancellor of Luleå Luleå University of Technology.

Margareta Friman is a professor of psychology and pro-vice chancellor at Karlstad University and has been part of CTF since the mid-90s. Here, she reflects and share some memories from her time at CTF.
It all started when Professor Patrik Larsson, former CTF director and current dean of Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, gave me the opportunity to try out the life as a researcher.
