Organizations use idea screening to select which ideas to develop into innovation projects. The question is how do experts decide if an idea is good? It is a complex interplay of intuition, analysis and sensemaking, according to a new study from CTF, Center for Service Research at Karlstad University. The researchers have mapped and analyzed activities that expert evaluators use to screen ideas, and how these activities are used to identify ideas of high quality.

Angela Caridà, research fellow at University Magna Graecia of Catanzaro, Italy, will be visiting CTF during the next three months. This is her second time at CTF. She visited us during three months last year.  Angela Caridà have a Ph D in Economic and Management of Healthcare. Her main areas of interest are service innovation, interactive marketing and co-creation. In the last two years her research focus has been on the service innovation in healthcare.

Tobias Hübinette has a Ph.D in Korean Studies, and is Associate Professor in Intercultural Education and primarily teaches Intercultural Studies and Swedish as a Second Language, as well as Gender Studies and Comparative literature. Hübinette’s research revolves around Swedish critical race- and whiteness studies, as well as adoption, migration, minorities, Korea, Asians and Swedishness. He has, for instance, published the book "Att skriva om svenskheten.

Choral singing is a geographically widespread phenomenon in Sweden. Despite this, it has received relatively limited attention in research. Until now. Per Göransson, who recently completed his PhD in Human Geography at Karlstad University, has done research on the subject. Choirs have been a popular cultural activity for a long time in Sweden.

Last year there were reports on 2300 personal data incidents to the Swedish Data Protection Authority, of which one quarter concerned the public sector. In addition to legal and technical challenges, there are also questions on how value is created with personal data, and not least on whose terms.
