Study Programme in IT, Project management and ERP Systems
To streamline and coordinate important functions in an organisation, corporate information is often gathered and integrated in an enterprise system. Part of the programme therefore consists of knowledge of how to select, adapt and implement enterprise systems.
The programme leads to a bachelor's degree with the option of further studies at an advanced level. If you want to get back to work quickly, there is the opportunity to take a higher education diploma after two years of full-time studies. You have great opportunities to choose courses yourself during your last semester leading a bachelor's degree.
General entry requirements, plus Mathematics 2a/2b/2c and Social Studies 1b or 1a1 + 1a2.
EducationThe education comprises at least 60 ECTS credits in information systems with an emphasis on IT-systems. The acquired knowledge in information systems is essential for working with enterprise systems, since a good knowledge in IT, business and human factors in the business are required. At least 30 ECTS credits in project management are included, since methods and tools for project management are needed to participate in and to lead IT-projects. Students on the programme acquire insight into the complexity of IT in organisations and the problems it poses for users and developers. The major in information systems has ties to current research, and graduates will therefore be well prepared for a career in IT, project management and enterprise systems.
Form of InstructionInstruction is provided via distance education. As a result, study is not limited by time or distance parameters. Computer and Internet access is required in order to keep in touch with teachers and students (see technical requirements on www.kau.se).
ExaminationThere are no set examination periods, and generally no final exam at the end of a semester, an academic year, or a complete study programme. Examination usually takes place at the end of each course, module, or unit.

To spend part of your studies at a university abroad is recommended. Contacts can be mediated by the teaching staff, counselors and central functions for International Studies at Karlstad University.
