The new book “Quality of Life and Daily Travel” describes the relationships between life satisfaction, well-being and daily travel. The authors discuss travel and quality of life to the built environment, travel mode choice, travel satisfaction and emotions, and presents case studies highlighting different aspects in daily travel and well-being.

On 27–28 September, Computer Science at Karlstad University organised a workshop to gain external input on the research group. Staff presented the research environment to an International Advisory Board (IAB) that gave feedback for further development.
It was clear that the Computer Science research group has developed significantly on many fronts since been designated an excellent research environment in 2014.

In 2014, Computer Science was established as one of the two excellent research groups at Karlstad University.
This subproject, "Migration and Transformation of Powerful Knowledge", addresses one of the major social issues of today - migration and cultural encounters. Like the other subprojects in ROSE, this project centres on practice-oriented matters.
Researcher Alexandre Sukhov is awarded the prestigious Wallander Scholarship of SEK 1.725 000 for his doctoral dissertation "The human side of idea screening" which deals with idea evaluation and development in the front end of innovation.

Three researchers connected to Karlstad Business School and Service Research Center (CTF) at Karlstad University have, as a part of the work within PRME, written a new book - Business Transformation for a Sustainable Future.
Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) is a part of the UN Global Compact initiative, and it is a systematic way of working towards improvement, change and learning, as well as collaboration and communication with society.

- My expectations before coming here were basically: learning new ways of working and presenting my research at an international level, deepening my dissertation research with the brilliant researchers of CTF, attending research courses, and trying to build partnerships for future research.
