Language use - Swedish and English
The project 'Language use - Swedish and English' is going to investigate how high-functioning students within autism spectrum disorder (ASD) use their first and second language.
The project investigates the use of Swedish and English of persons with ASD. It collects narratives and spontaneous speech, conducts surveys as well as interviews, and breaks new ground by using Live Action Role Plays (LARPs) as one of its data collection methods.
Entirely conducted in Sweden, the project is divided into three studies and includes upper-secondary school students from age of 15 as well as caregivers, teachers, and other professionals in close contact with persons on the spectrum.
The project is financed by the Swedish Research Council for the period 2024-2027.
