The "forgotten" asylum seekers from Afghanistan
– A study on inclusion and exclusion processes affecting young Hazara refugees in Sweden.
This project is a collaboration between Martin Joormann (Associate Professor in Social Work at KAU) and Anna Lundberg (Professor in Sociology of Law at LU). The project aims to conduct a joint analysis of previously collected data, supplement it with additional data in the form of public documentation, and publish a scientific article.
To achieve better effects in healthcare, new technological innovations should be implemented alongside structural changes.

Live case studies are a good way to learn and provide a feeling of being in a professional setting.
In the course Business Development from a Process and Partnership Perspective, students at Karlstad Business School have been given the opportunity to collaborate with several organisations. The Swedish preschool is in a long-standing change from content-based focus to subject didactic teaching and learning environments, from children’s development in groups to a greater focus on children’s individual learning and development. Not least, new forms of distribution, responsibility and management of the work with the children have been implemented.

Elin Skau, why did you choose Karlstad Business School?
- I chose it both because I come from Värmland but also because I heard very good things about the school and student life. The Business School has a super nice campus with good connections to the city centre.
What expectations did you have for the Human resource management and working life program - and were they met?
- I had the expectation of gaining a greater and broader understanding of working life and organizations.

Karlstad University’s user lab are used by different disciplines and also in collaboration with external parties. Within the research group for usability studies, there is also the development of methodologies for interaction design, especially around Ozlab which is a GUI experimental web service developed to admit easy testing, even improvisation, of ideas for interactive products.
