The 11th Workshop on Cellulose, Regenerated Cellulose, and Cellulose Derivatives gathered participants from 10 countries to learn about the latest research findings in the field.

The university board approved the budget for 2025 at the board meeting 27 November. The forward-looking investments in Eunice, doctoral students and associate senior lecturers, which are financed through the university’s agency capital, will continue. The rest of the budget is planned to be balanced.

The Swedish Institute for Educational Research has granted funding to three projects at Karlstad University focusing on practice-oriented education research. On November 7-8, Karlstad University hosted the inaugural Security Divas Sweden, a national conference focusing on cybersecurity and information security that aims to spotlight women in these fields. The event was organized by Karlstad University in collaboration with the Compare Foundation.
The conference welcomed eleven female role models who shared key insights on topics such as information influence, data protection and current perspectives on cybersecurity.
Karlstad University wants to attract more students from outside Europe.
"We believe that having students from different countries will lead to higher quality education and better dynamics both on campus and in the classroom," says Pro-Vice-Chancellor Patrik Larsson.
