This seminar will look at social media from three perspectives: crisis twittering among citizens, tourists' communication in crisis, and municipality communication in crisis. After the seminar there will be time for continued discussion.

Martin Ljungdahl presents results from a research project conducted jointly by University Väst and Konstfack (after defending his Magister thesis 1PM about the development method in this project).
The research project is about the effects of a sound system where unwanted sounds a reduced and "good" sounds from the environment is enhanced by digital technology.

Virtual Reality (VR) is a computer technology that allows the creation of virtual environments and simulation of the user's physical presence within these environments. It is also possible for the user to interact with the created virtual reality.
Lucia Casap, presently PhD student at Academy of Economic Sciences of Moldova, and about to start as Operations Officer at the World Bank in Moldova, will speak about the educational support by World Bank in her country, and about her research on the development of an Educational Management Information System.

On the 24th and 25th of May professors Kai Holzweißig and Thomas Kessel from DHBW visited the Information System department to get acquainted with the department before future Erasmus exchanges.

Bridget Kane's colleague from Statistics at Trinity College, was over for a couple of days to familiarise herself with Karlstad University. Myra made a presentation on the Ensembles techniques for prediction and discussed its teaching.

Karlstad Business School and Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova has agreed on a Memorandum of Understanding. John Sören Pettersson visited ASEM 11-14 April to bring home the signed agreement, discuss collaborations with ASEM informatics, and follow up on research student’s progression.

ReQtest is a tool for Test Management, Error Reports and Requirement Management. After a presentation of the tool, we will discuss course-related use of this tool.

Traditionally, laboratory test requests in hospitals were ordered on multi-part forms that required patient demographic information, clinical findings and reason for request to be handwritten. It was not unusual for transcription and transposition errors to be detected.
We are welcomming Johan Högberg, PhD candidate in Psychology working on gamification in shops at Karlstad University Service Research Centre. At Information Systems Johan will help in several classes; for spring 2016 it will be database design and courses on different web technologies.Johan's engagement at Information Systems will run between 10-20% each semester.
