Seminars June 1 and 8: EMIS and World Bank in Moldova
2016-06-01Lucia Casap, presently PhD student at Academy of Economic Sciences of Moldova, and about to start as Operations Officer at the World Bank in Moldova, will speak about the educational support by World Bank in her country, and about her research on the development of an Educational Management Information System.
June 1: Lucia has continued her studies on EMIS and has also continued her interviews here in Sweden. At the first seminar she gives an update on where she is now.

June 8: Lucia speaks about her new employment. The Operations Officer at the World Bank in Moldova supports the daily implementation of the education portfolio (project and grants) in Moldova and, as needed, is a part of the Ukraine and Belarus education teams. The main duties of the Operation Officers are: analytical work, provide support to counterparts for project implementation and help to identify bottlenecks and solve the problems. At the moment, the World Bank has a 40.0 mln. US $ which is supporting the reform in general education (1-12 grades). The project is planned from 2013-2018. Also, there is small grants projects for the improvement of the Education Systems.
In addition Lucia will speak about the reform project in VET financed by EU (professional and craft school) where she worked during the last 2 years, and other activities in preschool level and in higher education level financed by other donors.
