Together with the University College in Hedmark, Norway, Karlstad University has received a grant for a 3-year project about development of IT support for crisis training. Monika Magnusson and other researchers from Information System will play essential roles in this project. Joint training is an important factor for a well-developed readiness to handle crises.

The presentation will not included the most advanced technical details but still explain what are the technical difficulties of lowering web sites' latency.

Anders Green, Senior Lecturer in Media Technology at Södertörn University, outlines research plans related to the game design education offered by his university. Wizard of Oz is one method among others that may play a role here. Research plans and student-level collaboration will also be discussed at the seminar. Green's research focus includes human-machine interaction, communication, and web development for mobile services.

Tomas Gustavsson is a teacher in Project Management at Karlstad Business School at our university. He holds a degree in IS. The seminar covers how to develop quantative analyses of project work. Tomas collaborates with a company that offers a web-based project work place that is used by companies like IKEA, ABB, but also many smaller companies and organisations. Presently it hosts 54'000 active projects and since 1998 there are database logs from 174'000 projekt.

Lucia Casap from Academy of Economic Study of Moldova visits Information Systems for three weeks in june 2015. Lucia's research study bears the provisional title “E-Governance: Harmonization of education information systems in Moldova by implementing EMIS”. EMIS is Education Management Information Systems. For her trip to Sweden she has received a Japanese scholarship administrated by UNESCO. Next year she plans to stay for two months.

At the lunch seminar April 28, John Sören Pettersson presented a literature review by him and Malin Wik and the conclusions about why the Ozlab concept has survived for 15 years. The Wizard-of-Oz method has been around for decades, allowing researchers and practitioners to conduct prototyping without programming.

As part of Erasmus+, Kerstin Siakas, professor at the Alexander Institute of Technology, Thessaloniki, Greece, visited the department of information systems in 20-24 April. During her visit, Prof. Siakas participated in a number of course-related activities such as Bachelor thesis supervision and gave a lecture to students in the courses Business Systems II: Development models and Business by Web and Web Analytics.
