2015-09-01Tomas Gustavsson is a teacher in Project Management at Karlstad Business School at our university. He holds a degree in IS. The seminar covers how to develop quantative analyses of project work.
Tomas collaborates with a company that offers a web-based project work place that is used by companies like IKEA, ABB, but also many smaller companies and organisations. Presently it hosts 54'000 active projects and since 1998 there are database logs from 174'000 projekt. Tomas are able to make analysis of certain data pertaining to project works forms (not about content in project documents).
At the seminar the 9th of September he presented statistics about differences in the use of functions between paying users and non-paying users. For the future he ventures to penetrate questions such as:
How do they plan?
The use of gantt-charts
Milestone-planning (PMI: 5-10 in a project)
Size of activities (PMI: Work package=1-8 weeks)
How do they organize?
Average size of project teams
Changes in team size over time (Is it a bell-curve?)
Vision: research on virtual project team member behaviour.
Tomas Gustavsson presents hiis vision for future research.
