Erica Sandlund grew up in Norrbotten and began her studies at Luleå University of Technology, and later transferred and completed her studies at Karlstad University and the University of Tennessee.

Ida Flink was born and raised in Årjäng. After spending a few years abroad following graduation from upper secondary school, she moved to Örebro to enroll in the psychology programme. Immediately after graduation, she went on to doctoral studies at the same university, where the first two years were combined with the practical placement required to become a licenced psychologist.
Vinnova, Formas and the Swedish Energy Agency say yes to funding for SustainGov, where Samhällsnytta at Karlstad University is one of the partners.
The decision means that SustainGov is granted around SEK 11 million in government funding per year for running the programme, which is intended to help the public sector do the right things.

The current global pandemic has brought with it many challenges. Most obviously, the costs are seen in the lives lost and the health, emotional, social, and economic challenges that many people face around the globe due to the pandemic.

Why did both of you choose to study at Karlstad Business School?
– I think the biggest reason is that we’re born in Värmland, says Erik Steijner. Moving to Karlstad felt natural. We didn’t have any solid plans for life, so instead of applying for random jobs, we chose to study.
What were your expectations for the degree programme at Karlstad Business School? Did it live up to your expectations?
– Our original idea was to study IT, says Erik.
Societal challenges require in-depth knowledge and enhanced competences. By building upon your bachelor degree with a further year or two of advanced level studies, you will increase your chances of finding an exciting profession and of pursuing an international career.

You are a professor of Marketing and Head of the Department of Marketing and the Institute for Marketing Management at Vienna University of Economics and business (WU Vienna). Can you tell us about your research?
– My primary areas of research are marketing, innovation, and consumer behavior. My ongoing research projects revolve around diverse topics such as creativity, groundedness, new product ideation, and sustainability.

My research revolves around sexuality and history at the intersection of lived experience, activism and government regulation.

A series of master courses for game producers is offered from autumn 2025 which can lead to a 1-year master exam in Information Systems. Carl Unander-Scharin was born in Stockholm in 1964 and graduated from Adolf Fredriks musikgymnasium in 1983. He continued his studies at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, where he studied church music, choir education and the supplementary teacher education.

Abstract
When we use any type of digital platform – music streaming services, train ticket bookings, dating apps, e-stores – our digital traces are collected, stored, analyzed and used to classify us and our actions.
Christmas is around the corner and the year is drawing to a close, as I look back on an eventful year. I want to take this opportunity to give my warmest thanks to colleagues, partners, funders, and anyone who has contributed to or our research. I look forward to a new year of interesting research, courses and events.
In 2022 we have managed to make the workplace vibrant and lively again, following the pandemic.

Fifteen years ago, open source developers were considered geeky. Today, on the contrary, these are the most sought after developers. Redpill Linpro, a company only working with products based on open source code, hosted the last SNITS lunch of the year on 5 December, with the theme “Kickstarting your career with open source”.
Software developed from source code that is open to everyone to use, change, develop and distribute is known as open source.

Three projects at Karlstad University are the recipients of EU funds to a sum of 21 million SEK. The decision was made by the North Mid-Sweden Structural Fund Partnership on 15 December 2016.
