Jörg Lenhard, a postdoctoral research fellow in computer science, participated in the lecture series “Möt en forksare”. He talked about one of the meeting points between the fields of software engineering and biology: software evolution.
During his lecture Jörg Lenhard described how and why software engineering researchers apply the term evolution and related biological concepts and what researchers hope to gain this way.

The former chairman of the choir CMB, Mattias Norén, has passed away. Therefore, Karlstad University flags are flying at half-mast today, Monday, May 26. Our thoughts go out to Mattias Norén's closest and all affected choir friends. A memorial service will be held today, Monday, May 26 in the Aula Magna at 6:00 p.m.
Mattias Norén joined the choire when he was studying to be a teacher at the then University College of Karlstad, in the mid-1990s.
Fresh seas, non-polluting transportation and good food produced by sustainable methods are examples of future challenges that affect us all. Kristina Palm is from Grödinge, 30 kilometres south of Stockholm. She is an electrical engineer, specialised in quality technology. She graduated from the Royal Institute of Technology, KTH. Karlstad University’s vice-chancellor, Jerker Moodysson, has been appointed as a board member of the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR) for the next three years.
– I’m looking forward to working on development issues related to higher education in a new context for me, says Jerker Moodysson.
– Among other things, UHR is responsible for coordinating admissions, internationalisation and digital services. They also work with information and analyses.

Jana Huck will conduct her doctoral studies in the field of innovation management, focusing on service innovation and its implementation.

Sture Nordh grew up on a farm in Västerbotten, near Skellefteå, in a family of active members of associations and societies. As a child he listened to discussions in board meetings relating to agriculture, church and politics, in the big farm kitchen.
Two research projects at the Karlstad Business School were awarded 2,7 and 5 million by Forte, The Swedish Research Council for Health, Working Life and Welfare. It is the subjects Business administration and Working life science that start up new projects starting next year.

The Internet of Things refers to devices that are not traditionally networked, such as watches, toys and machines.
