This project is a collaboration between Martin Joormann (Associate Professor in Social Work at KAU) and Anna Lundberg (Professor in Sociology of Law at LU). Lars Järnström, professor of coating technology, came to Karlstad University in 1999 and has been involved in building the current strong research environment for fibre-based processes and products. Now retirement is approaching but he will continue working at the university as senior professor.
Lars Järnström's research centres mainly on environment-friendly surface treatment of fibre-based packaging materials.
The music industry spends a lot of resources on creating innovative concert experiences, and the relationship between the musicians and their fans. With the show Abba Voyage, a giant step is taken towards developing and transforming an already digital industry.
We wish all our students, colleagues, alumni, and partners a peaceful Christmas and a Happy New Year.
At Karlstad Business School, we strive to create an environment where students, teachers, researchers, and professionals can develop socially important knowledge together.

Here we explain common concepts related to the study and work environment, discrimination, and how these concepts differ from one another. The information is based on the Swedish Discrimination Act and the Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulations on Organizational and Social Work Environment.
Conflicts and unfair treatment are not the same as discrimination.
To achieve better effects in healthcare, new technological innovations should be implemented alongside structural changes.

Live case studies are a good way to learn and provide a feeling of being in a professional setting.
In the course Business Development from a Process and Partnership Perspective, students at Karlstad Business School have been given the opportunity to collaborate with several organisations. Students have been helping to map out business processes and develop improved work procedures using digitalisation.
The proposal development step, also commonly referred to as the pre-award phase represents the beginning of the research project lifecycle, which includes drafting proposals, setting up collaborations, budgeting, compliance check, reviewing and submission. The Pre-award checklist and sections below provide support during the proposal development step.

Project description
The Swedish preschool is in a long-standing change from content-based focus to subject didactic teaching and learning environments, from children’s development in groups to a greater focus on children’s individual learning and development. Not least, new forms of distribution, responsibility and management of the work with the children have been implemented.

The Public Health Agency of Sweden has, in consultation with medical officers for infectious disease control and the County Administrative Board of Värmland, decided on stricter general guidelines. The aim is to further reduce unnecessary contact between people and thereby the spread of infection.
Art History and Visual Studies is concerned with how people have expressed themselves by giving shape to these expressions through images and forms since they first developed the means to do so, through to today’s prolific flood of images and contemporary art.

After the recent hacker attacks in which the university's IT supplier Tietoevry, amongst others, was affected, it becomes clear how quickly organizations can become target of such actions. Meiko Jensen, lecturer in cybersecurity at computer science, helps us clarify the areas of hacking and cybersecurity.

Elin Skau, why did you choose Karlstad Business School?
- I chose it both because I come from Värmland but also because I heard very good things about the school and student life. The Business School has a super nice campus with good connections to the city centre.
