Coaching via text messages can contribute to healthier habits and a better sense of well-being. This is shown in a study where researchers at CTF, Service Research Center at Karlstad University, together with Friskvården i Värmland, have examined how digital services can complement physical meetings and facilitate behavioural change. Changing your habits to a healthier way of life is not easy.
I want to start by thanking all of you for doing such a fantastic job throughout the year. I hope you will have the opportunity to relax, recharge your batteries and enjoy some well-earned time off. Last time I wrote about my first impressions of Karlstad University and how I view our development going forward.

Research in public health science

Research at Public health science consists of several strong research groups tightly tied to the community. Research topics include psychosocial health of vulnerable groups children. Environmental exposure and child development is studied in the SELMA-study. Public Health Science at Karlstad University involve renowned and experienced researchers that produce quality research in their respective fields. Several large studies are currently being undertaken.

Karlstad University has received funding from the KK Foundation to build an industrial research school in forest-based bioeconomy and digitization. The project runs from June 2023 to May 2029. EXACT is a collaboration between two strong research groups at Karlstad University - Pro2BE and DAMI4.0 - eight companies and several industry partners.

Ten years ago I approached Tobii Technology with a radical suggestion, to lend me an eye-tracker.

Pascal Le Masson is a professor at the Mines de Paris Research University, and has a distinguished background in design-oriented management and innovation. Pascal Le Masson is an engineer and a professor at MINES ParisTech – PSL Research University.
