Loredana Sundberg Cerrato from Dublin gave an intriguing seminar on February 10, 2016. Loredana, who also presented the ADAPT centre in Dublin this day (see post on the web pages of Information Systems), gave an in-depth view on research on dialogue supporting machine translation between languages for the HCI group and Master students. Bridget Kane will act as stand in for the lecture position in HCI during January-August 2016. She earned her doctor’s degree at Trinity College, Dublin, on a dissertation entitled ”An analysis of the dynamics of multidisciplinary medical team meetings and the use of communication technology”.

Karlstad University along with Samot, The Service and Market Oriented Transport Research Group, is the leading European institution on public transport research. These are findings from a new study where public transport research was surveyed. The study shows that public transport research involve both disciplinary and interdisciplinary research and has increased in recent years. The biggest increase in this area occurs in the US and in China.

The requirements on both services and suppliers are becoming higher and regardless if the user is called customer, citizen, local resident, or patient, it is the experience that makes the difference. To offer services based on the user’s requirements is becoming increasingly important.
