    Launch of new courses for professionals

    CTF, Service Research Center at Karlstad University, are expanding their range of flexible courses for professionals. Registration is now open for courses in digitalisation, customer journey and idea management, two of which are offered for the first time. The courses will start at the end of January and registration is open until 18 January.

    Registration is now open for the first courses of the spring term aimed at working professionals. More courses will be available later in the year.

    From steel and concrete to cross-laminated timber

    Innovations based on sustainable technology have long been considered to be a remedy for both societal and environmental problems in many fields. Andrey Abadzhiev, doctoral student in Business Administration at CTF and Karlstad Business School, has examined how alternative materials can replace the old ones.

    With his the licentiate thesis Wood We Change, Andrey Abadzhiev aims to understand how businesses within the construction industry organise in order to accomplish systemic change towards more sustainability.

    - When we talk about change, we have to ask ourselves why we need change, says Andrey Abadzhiev. What is wrong with what we have right now? We need reasons for the changes.

    Alexandre Sukhov visited MINES ParisTech

    In November, Alexandre Sukhov was a visiting researcher at MINES ParisTech University, France. Tell us, what did you do there?

    - I was there to meet with fellow researchers in order to advance our collaboration and research in the field of innovation and idea management. MINES ParisTech has a strong scientific foundation and great expertise in engineering issues, creativity management, design and complex problem solving, which is close to my own research profile. I was also given the opportunity to lecture and present my own research, and as a result I was invited to give a presentation at an international research meeting, "15th SIG Design Theory Paris Workshop", in the end of January, 2022.

    New book chapter on employee well-being in the service and hospitality industry

    Employee well-being and engagement in the service and hospitality industry is the focus in one of our recent publications. The aim of the study is to excavate the most important combination configuration antecedents of employee well-being in the food and beverage industry, and explain to what extent employee well-being could increase employee engagement and decrease employee turnover intention.
