And the Alum of the Year 2025 is....?
2025-03-31Nominations for this year’s Alum of the Year are open! Alum of the Year is awarded each year to a person who has completed a degree at undergraduate, master’s or doctoral level and who has demonstrated the ability to live up to Kau's vision: To challenge the known and explore the unknown.
Last year’s Alum of the Year was the entrepreneur Lars Johansson-Kjellerød, who received the award for his work through his company Unicus, which focuses on creating neuroinclusive workplaces, says Fredrika Swenson, project leader in student recruitment and chair of the jury. During the award ceremony, Lars gave an open lecture about his work with Unicus, and the Grant Innovation Office (GIO) organised a CR8© together with students to generate ideas around social entrepreneurship.
Fredrika Swenson is hoping for many strong and interesting nominations, and a winner who can inspire both students and employees.
Nominations are open and the last day to submit proposals is Sunday 27 April (everyone is welcome to nominate candidates). Criteria for Alum of the Year nominees:
1. The Alum of the Year must have a bachelor’s degree and/or a master’s degree and/or a PhD from Karlstad University.
2. He or she must have demonstrated integrity in their chosen profession by daring to challenge established norms and explore the unknown within their field of work.
Remember to justify your nomination based on the criteria!
The Alum of the Year 2025 will be announced in the autumn, after a decision is made by the vice-chancellor.
