Visiting Erskine Fellowship

Bo Edvardsson, Professor at CTF and Assistant Vice Chancellor at Karlstad University, have received the Visiting Erskine Fellowship at the College of Business and Law at University of Canterbury, New Zealand. Bo Edvardsson will spend a month as a visiting Professor at University of Canterbury. The university is located in Christchurch, the largest city on the south islands, with about 350 000 inhabitants.

Erik Wästlund, Lecturer in Psychology and researcher at CTF, appears in the latest issue of the popular science magazine Scientific American. The article talks about how people easier understand and remember text on paper compared to text on a screen. - As a part of my Ph D thesis I conducted a study where I compared reading comprehension between paper and screen. The results showed that text on paper was easier to understand.

During the fall 2013 two new Ph D Students in Business Administration have joined CTF. Emma Axelsson will pursue her doctoral studies on business models in retail- and manufacturing industries. She will be tied to the research profile Service Innovation for Sustainable Business where Martin Löfgren, Associate Professor will be Emma’s supervisor.

In December 2013 CTF has been appointed Excellence research group at Karlstad University. - With this appointment we are given the opportunity to develop and further strengthen our position as one of the leading research centers on service innovation in the world, says Director Henrietta Huzell.? As an Excellence research group CTF will receive up to 15 million SEK a year, for up to five years.

Joann Peck has been appointed Visiting Professor at CTF. The Visiting professorship is funded by Anne-Marie and Gustaf Ander Foundation for Media Research, which provide grants to cover the cost of a visiting professor at the CTF for a month during the next three years. - I am so excited to be invited as a Visiting professor at CTF and Karlstad University. I have been fortunate to work with Anders Gustafsson at CTF on several projects in various retail settings.
