Cybersecurity concerns you, your work and your research - it is becoming increasingly important, and a sustainable society without cybersecurity does not exist. On December 9-13, CTF, Service Research Center at Karlstad University will host a multi-disciplinary seminar series consisting of five talks on Service System Transformation, in which researchers from different perspectives and approaches within service research will illuminate the research area.
The seminars will focus on global societal challenges and how transformation within social systems works.

To connect with the customers, stores and companies will in the future use Gamification more and more. Johan Högberg has written a dissertation on this topic and sees gamification as a powerful tool to change or maintain behavior.
"I have looked at certain parts of the gaming experience, and how to use it for marketing purposes. I have conducted experiments in stores and investigated how to create customer engagement and sales with the help of gamification.
We are happy to welcome Hugo Guyader to CTF. He will be working with professors Margareta Friman and Lars E Olsson in a research project on shared mobility, and will develop a survey for users of a Swedish ride sharing platform.

September 27, is the last day of Global Week for Future, a global climate week organised by the school strike movement Fridays For Future. The week ends with a global climate strike where adults are invited to participate to pressure politicians to act in the ongoing climate crisis. Researcher Helén Williams will give a talk at Stora torget in Karlstad to show her support.

"I presented a conference paper with focus on perceived accessibility in daily travel and how it deteriorates in situations where the private car is not available as a mean for daily travel.
What are the reasons for managers to engage in servitization, and how do they justify their efforts within their organisations? To answer this question, we studied six different firms of various sizes, from 10 to 4000 employees. The firms were from different types of industries, although they were all manufacturing companies with a strong belief in services.
Researchers at CTF, Service Research Center at Karlstad University, will, within an Interreg Consortium, analyze travel services from a traveler's perspective. The project is funded by the EU regional development fund Interreg Baltic Sea Region.
"The purpose of the project is to study vulnerable travel groups and their perceived experience of existing services," says researcher Per Echeverri.
We welcome Jasper van Kuijk, Assistant professor of User-centered design & innovation at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. He will be a visiting researcher at CTF until next summer.
During his stay at CTF, he will be working on a popular scientific book on user-centered design, for which he got a grant from the Dutch organization for scientific funding.
CTF researcher Jörg Pareigis, has been appointed as Head of Centre for Teaching and Learning at Karlstad University.
