Legal Tech, AI och Rules-as-Code
15.0 HPThe course covers the broad concept of Legal Tech, which is a collective term for technology, especially software, used to deliver legal services but also for systems that support lawyers' work. Lawyers' work is facilitated by powerful text databases with laws, preparatory works, case law, and doctrine. At the same time, there is a development where companies and authorities try to rationalize their processes, which can lead to automated decision-making where human judgment is lacking. The course has a special focus on applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in legal work processes and on Rules-as-Code transformers where rules are written in machine-readable form so that the reinterpretation into program code for computers does not risk leading to reinterpretation of the intention behind the regulatory framework. Within the framework of AI, different forms of machine learning (ML) are described. In the course, guest lecturers from various Swedish authorities contribute with examples, and organize workshops.
Teaching takes place in the form of lectures, discussion seminars, workshops, labs in AI use and Rules-as-Code use, and presentation seminars.
