In this Science skills to go seminar, we will have a closer look at the concept of open peer review, a transformative approach to scholarly publishing that emphasizes transparency and accountability. We will explore perceived key benefits of open peer review, such as increased trust in the review process, enhanced collaboration among researchers, and the potential for higher-quality feedback. Additionally, we will address the challenges associated with this model, including concerns about reviewer anonymity and potential biases. Finally, we will discuss best practices for implementing open peer review effectively, drawing on case studies and current research to provide practical insights.
This presentation is designed for researchers and PhD students who are interested in understanding the evolving landscape of peer review and its implications for their work. Join us in this 30 min session to learn how open peer review can contribute to a more transparent and collaborative scientific community.
